Calling all MMD experts! need help with Alternativefull and Raycast

Hello! :)

Im currently trying to find out how to get Alternativefull working with Raycast Shader
The fx files i made wont really work with the raycast shader when i load them in MME
i've have put the fx files from Alternativefull both in Main and MaterialMap, but it doesnt seem to work :/
its like the raycast shader only works with its own fx files, if a use another fx file the shader no longer appears on the model
some parts even become transparent.

Im using the newest raycast shader ver 1.3.1

I would reaallyy appreciate the help if somebody knows what to do !

AlternativeFull and Raycast (Ray-MMD) will not work together. This is because AlternativeFull uses the original ExcellentShadow2 and Raycast uses a modified version of ExcellentShadow2 (Main.fx). If you are using Raycast, then you don't really need AlternativeFull. Raycast can do everything that AF can do. Raycast will work with AdultShader and other shaders like it, but it seems to have a problem with physics based shaders like ExcellentShadow2 and IK_Polish Shader. I guess its physics system is slightly different.

The MaterialMap FX files need to be in a specific format for them to work in Raycast. Those FX files are created specifically for Raycast. If you try to replace the MaterialMap FX files with non-Raycast FX you will probably run into trouble. The good news is you can customize the MaterialMap FX files however you like. Just open the FX file in a text editor like the free Notepad++ and you can add normal maps, change the shininess, make it emissive (glowing). You can even make something play a video or animated GIF.

Aww thats too bad, i really like how Alternativefull works because of the normalmaps, and its actually pretty simple to use! its abit more tricky getting normalmaps to work with Raycast than just using alternativefull.

Thank you very much for the help, i'll try to edit the fx files from raycast with Notepad++ instead :)

do you perhaps know any tutorials for editing the fx files in Notepad++ ? i've tried searching around but i cant find anything, i would really love to learn how edit the files properly.

The best tutorial for editing material fx files is on the same website that you download Raycast shader on...
https://github.com/ray-cast/ray-mmd/wiki/0.0-%E6%95%99%E7%A8%8B

Unfortunately this tutorial is in Chinese, so you will have to use Google Chrome to translate it. It is not too hard to follow though.

Also, take a look in the Ray-mmd folder in the Materials sub folder, and you will find material_helper_2.0.fx. Open this up in Notepad++ and it will give some good explanations of the different settings for each section. This is in English.

I want to get a similar desired effect like how this MMDer does in his/her videos using Raycast. Check the link to see.

Could you be more specific?

Of course, no problem. I hope it's of some use. Feel free to ask questions in that thread.
